Microphone Not Working With PlayStation or Xbox

Microphone Not Working With PlayStation or Xbox

Below is a list of potential causes and solutions for microphone issues when using your gaming console with a Woojer device:

  1. Improper Cable Connection:
Ensure a secure TRRS cable connection (the 4-contact cable supplied by Woojer) from your controller to the Woojer device, followed by a wired connection from your headset to the Woojer.

  2. Incorrect Cable Type:
Using a 3-contact (TRS) cable instead of the provided 4-contact (TRRS) cable will transmit audio but will disable microphone functionality. Verify that you are using the supplied Woojer cable, and that you also use a TRRS audio cable for connecting the headset to the Woojer.

  3. Headset Microphone Fault:
Test your headset’s microphone independently by connecting it directly to your controller. On gaming console, navigate to Settings → Sound → Microphone → Adjust Microphone Level to confirm both the controller and headset are working correctly. (Similar system-level mic tests can be performed on other consoles.)

  4. Active Bluetooth Audio Conflict:
If the Woojer is currently receiving a Bluetooth audio stream from another device (e.g., a smartphone), the microphone input will be disabled. Resolve this by disconnecting the Woojer from the other device via its Bluetooth menu.

Note: The Woojer App does not control microphone functionality—only the Bluetooth audio source device can manage this connection.

Please ensure each of these points is checked systematically to isolate and resolve the issue.
